My name is Jillian Thorvaldson and I have been photographing for over 7 years. Formerly a studio artist and darkroom instructor at Redux Contemporary Art Center in Downtown Charleston, SC, I have recently uprooted my creative home and moved to Brooklyn, New York.  I am recent graduate of the College of Charleston, with two majors in studio art and arts management, and a concentration in photography.

I specialize in portraiture, with an emphasis on well directed shoots with purpose and intelligence, asking questions about diversity, equality, and what it means to make art.
